THE RIDER

Sam Blenkinsop is a Whanganui-born downhill mountain biker who has raced professionally for more than 20 years, competing at the highest level of the sport across Europe, North America, and beyond. One UCI World Cup win, 13 podiums, King of Crankworx, and three NZ and Oceania titles - Blenki has done it all on the world stage.

THE COACH

After two decades on the World Cup circuit, Sam returned to Whanganui at the end of 2024 to put everything he's learned directly into other riders. Whether you're brand new to trails or chasing results, you get the same direct, no-fluff feedback that shaped one of NZ's most decorated careers.

20+ Years World Cup racing

13 UCI Downhill podiums

Sam didn't just survive 20 years at World Cup level - he thrived in it. Known for his smooth, powerful riding style and his ability to find lines that other riders simply don't see, his approach was always about precision and control over raw risk. That's exactly what he brings to coaching - a focus on the fundamentals that actually make you faster, safer, and more confident on the bike.
